Thompson seeks retirement fight at White House event

Stephen Thompson has said he would like his final fight to take place at the upcoming White House card and would retire afterward, reportedly viewing it as an ideal finale.

He reportedly has one fight remaining on his UFC contract and plans to use that bout to close out his tenure if given the opportunity.

Sources indicate numerous fighters are vying for the limited slots on the White House card, with the official lineup not expected to be finalized until the end of the month.

Thompson has also suggested he still feels able to compete into his 40s but accepts the promotion may opt not to re-sign an older contender.

Those comments were made in a recent interview, according to reports.
