IBJJF European Championship begins in Lisbon

The 2026 IBJJF European Jiu‑Jitsu Championship reportedly opened in Lisbon on January 15, 2026, and is scheduled to run through January 24.

Organizers say the tournament has attracted over 6,000 registered competitors, a modest increase from last year.

Live coverage is expected on FloGrappling, with broadcasts said to start at 4:30 a.m. ET on the opening day and earlier matches possibly available via a free YouTube stream.

A number of high-profile and rising grapplers are listed among the entrants, including Diego Pato, Tainan Dalpra, and Gabi Pessanha, among others reportedly competing.

Masters divisions are said to begin around January 17, while adult black belt brackets are planned for the final two days, January 23–24.

Early reports indicate veterans Jussier Formiga and Joao Miyao secured masters gold, with additional results being posted as the event continues.
