Opetaia signs with Zuffa Boxing

Jai Opetaia has reportedly inked a promotional deal with Zuffa Boxing.

The 30-year-old Australian is the unbeaten IBF and The Ring cruiserweight champion, carrying a 29-0 record with 23 KOs.

Sources say the move represents the promotion’s largest signing to date.

Zuffa Boxing is scheduled to debut on Jan. 23 at the Apex in Las Vegas, with a second event planned for Feb. 14.

There is talk that the winner of David Benavidez vs. Gilberto Ramirez could be a potential future opponent for Opetaia.

Contract details and Opetaia’s next fight date were not disclosed and are reportedly still being finalized.
