Bisping weighs in on Pimblett and Hooker spat
Former UFC champion Michael Bisping has commented on a reportedly heated exchange between Paddy Pimblett and Dan Hooker, saying Pimblett's remarks about Hooker's mother were inappropriate while Hooker's response also crossed a line.
Pimblett is said to have used a crude analogy about Hooker's grappling during an interview, and Hooker allegedly replied on social media by referencing a friend of Pimblett who died by suicide, prompting backlash.
Bisping reportedly noted regional humor as context but cautioned that targeting family members and the deceased is unacceptable.
He warned that bringing relatives into trash talk rarely ends well and suggested mental-health concerns make some jabs especially sensitive, according to sources.
Bisping also outlined potential consequences for matchmaking: Pimblett is set to face Justin Gaethje for an interim lightweight title at UFC 324 on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas, while Hooker is scheduled to fight Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 325 in Sydney one week later.
Finally, Bisping said the spat could raise Pimblett's profile and influence future pairings, with further developments reportedly being discussed.
