Khabib and Jon Anik's UFC Debuts in Nashville 14 Years Ago

Fourteen years have passed since Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jon Anik both made their UFC debuts in Nashville.

On January 20, 2012, at Bridgestone Arena, the UFC held its second event in the city.

Though the main event featured Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard, it was Nurmagomedov's preliminary fight that caught attention.

Khabib, who later became a lightweight champion, submitted Kamal Shalorus with a rear-naked choke.

This marked Nurmagomedov's first visit to the U.S., a prelude to his undefeated career.

The event also marked the start of Anik's career as a UFC commentator.
