Lewis walks back peptides claim

Derrick Lewis issued a clarification on January 21, 2026 after comments that suggested the UFC had provided him peptides ahead of UFC 324.

He had earlier implied on his podcast that the promotion supplied those substances, a remark that sparked questions under the sport's anti‑doping rules.

UFC anti‑doping director Jeff Novitsky reportedly denied the promotion handed out prohibited peptides, saying Lewis received injectable compounds that were third‑party tested and allowed.

Supplement maker REGNR8RX said it, not the UFC, supplied the products, described them as TruShield‑Certified and WADA‑compliant, and said Lewis used the wrong term when discussing them.

Following the statements, Lewis is reportedly still scheduled to face Waldo Cortes‑Acosta at UFC 324.
