Donn Davis steps down as chairman

Donn Davis announced Wednesday that he is leaving his role as chairman of the organization he founded eight years ago.

The departure follows a recent leadership shakeup in which the former CEO Peter Murray and president Ray Sefo also exited in recent weeks.

The company has reportedly laid off multiple long‑time staff amid the management changes.

On the same day Davis stepped down, new investment from Knighthead Capital Management and 885 Capital was disclosed and a nine‑member board was named.

The move comes ahead of an ESPN broadcast deal set to expire at the end of 2026 and after John Martin was hired as CEO in late 2025 to guide the promotion through that period.

The promotion's 2026 season is scheduled to begin Feb. 7 in Dubai.
