Nunes responds to Harrison injury

On Tuesday Amanda Nunes said via a posted video that she still intends to come out of retirement despite Kayla Harrison withdrawing from their scheduled bout with a neck injury.

Nunes reportedly plans to wait for Harrison to recover but also signaled she wants a shot at the title if the champion is forced into a prolonged absence or stripped.

Sources say Harrison is expected to be sidelined for at least six months.

Nunes has not fought since June 2023 and was days away from returning for the matchup.

Further timing and booking details are reportedly being discussed.
