Almeida steps in to face Kuniev

    Jailton Almeida is reportedly taking a fight with Rizvan Kuniev at UFC Fight Night 266 on Feb. 7.

    He is replacing Ryan Spann, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons, with the bout scheduled for the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

    Almeida accepted the matchup on under three weeks' notice after a controversial decision loss in October.

    Kuniev, a former Eagle FC heavyweight champion, is searching for his first UFC win following a split-decision loss in his promotional debut.

    The pairing was first reported by a journalist and later confirmed by both fighters on social media.
