Rozenstruik arrested on false imprisonment charge
Former UFC heavyweight Jairzinho Rozenstruik was reportedly taken into custody this week in Pembroke Pines, Florida, facing a third-degree false imprisonment count and a related misdemeanor for an alleged touch/strike domestic offense.
Reports say bond was set at $2,500 for the felony and $1,000 for the misdemeanor, and authorities placed a 48-hour immigration hold on him.
The 37-year-old, who left the UFC last year and went on to compete in DBX where he is said to hold the heavyweight crown, is expected to appear before a judge soon.
He remains presumed innocent while the case proceeds and further information is reportedly forthcoming.
More details on the situation are likely to be released in the coming days.
