Steveson expected to return to LFA before UFC move

LFA chief Ed Soares says the promotion is aiming to host Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson for another bout before he transitions to the UFC, according to recent comments.

Steveson made his pro MMA debut at LFA 217 in September, ending the fight in under two minutes.

He is reportedly slated to compete at a Mexico Fight League event on Feb. 19.

Soares noted the significant attention Steveson generated and indicated discussions are underway about a potential follow-up appearance in the LFA cage.

The promotion also announced a U.S. television agreement with Vice TV covering 25 events in 2025, with the new broadcast run beginning this Friday with LFA 224 at 9 p.m. ET.

Further confirmation of any return is reportedly being worked out; see the original report for more details.
