Gaethje scolds Cormier over pay comments

Justin Gaethje confronted Daniel Cormier this week after Cormier said fighters are getting paid more following the UFC’s new Paramount+ deal.

Gaethje, who headlines UFC 324 this weekend, said he has not seen a pay increase and pressed Cormier during an interview.

Cormier defended his remarks, but Gaethje accused him of misstating the situation and making fighters look bad.

UFC CEO Dana White has reportedly said Gaethje was offered additional money but did not respond to the offer.

The back-and-forth took place Jan. 23, 2026 as the promotion prepares its Paramount+ debut and the matter is still being discussed.
