Nurmagomedov to face Figueiredo on UFC 324 prelims

    Umar Nurmagomedov is slated to meet former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo on the featured prelims at UFC 324 this Saturday in Las Vegas.

    His placement on the prelim card reportedly surprised many after the planned co-main event between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes fell apart and Sean O'Malley vs. Song Yadong was promoted.

    Nurmagomedov has said he is unconcerned by the slot, reportedly noting he only needs the cage and time to compete.

    He also downplayed the notion that O'Malley would automatically earn the next title shot, saying various outcomes are possible depending on results being discussed.

    The fight is expected to air on the Paramount+ prelim stream from T-Mobile Arena on Saturday.
