Smotherman collapses at UFC 324 weigh-ins

Cameron Smotherman reportedly fainted and fell face-first during the UFC 324 weigh-ins on Friday shortly after making weight.

On-site medics attended to him and he was taken to a hospital, where head and neck CT scans were reportedly clear and he received sutures before being released.

Smotherman issued a statement Friday night saying he is fine, that he does not know what caused the episode, and denying claims it was the result of an extreme weight cut.

His scheduled undercard bout with Ricky Turcios was canceled after the incident, and additional tests are reportedly planned to determine the cause.

Smotherman, a 2024 addition to the promotion, has had mixed results since joining, according to records.
