Gautier defeats Pulayev

    Ateba Gautier picked up a decision win over Andrey Pulayev at UFC 324, completing a full three-round contest for the first time inside the Octagon.

    Gautier reportedly rocked Pulayev with an early right and again late in the fight, yet Pulayev was able to hang on and use distance striking throughout the bout.

    The judges awarded the victory to Gautier by decision.

    The result pushes Gautier to 4-0 in the UFC since arriving from Dana White's Contender Series.

    Pulayev, who had beaten Nick Klein in his last outing, is said to be 1-2 in the promotion following his own Contender Series entry.
