Cormier expects Yan to face Dvalishvili again

    Daniel Cormier said he expects Petr Yan to be matched with Merab Dvalishvili following UFC 324.

    Cormier noted Sean O'Malley's decision win over Song Yadong was a comeback victory but likely insufficient to secure an immediate title shot.

    He also suggested Umar Nurmagomedov's decision over Deiveson Figueiredo probably won't vault him into championship contention.

    Because neither athlete separated themselves decisively, Cormier predicts the promotion will return to Yan vs. Dvalishvili.

    Those remarks came after UFC 324 on Jan. 26, 2026, and plans are reportedly still being discussed.
