Gaethje defeats Pimblett

    Justin Gaethje beat Paddy Pimblett by unanimous decision to win the interim lightweight title at UFC 324 on Saturday in Las Vegas.

    Rather than leaning on his grappling, Pimblett reportedly chose to stand and trade for much of the fight.

    Former champion Demetrious Johnson expressed surprise at that approach in comments on his YouTube channel.

    Gaethje controlled the five-round main event despite a late rally from Pimblett, according to event coverage.
