Baatmunk to face Omarov at Black Combat 16

    Burenjerik Baatmunk, 40, reportedly finished the Dec 24 main event at GOAT FC Destiny 01 in Gimpo with an early submission to claim the inaugural welterweight crown.

    Promoters say he has volunteered as a late replacement and will meet unbeaten Russian wrestler Sultan Omarov (8-0) at Black Combat 16: EXODUS on Dec 31 in Incheon.

    The matchup was confirmed after organizers indicated Baatmunk left his previous bout uninjured and was available to step in.

    Black Combat announced the fight as the card's 15th matchup on Dec 27 and says ticket sales have reportedly topped 10,000, a milestone for a domestic promotion in the country.

    Several title fights are scheduled on the card; further specifics are being released by the promotion and reporters.
