Cejudo opposes O'Malley waiting for title shot

Henry Cejudo said on his Pound 4 Pound podcast that he would stop following the sport if Sean O'Malley were granted a title fight without further wins.

The comments followed O'Malley's unanimous decision over Song Yadong at UFC 324 and his claim that he would accept waiting if champion Petr Yan pursues a trilogy with Merab Dvalishvili.

Cejudo argued other contenders, including Umar Nurmagomedov and Dvalishvili, should be prioritized ahead of a contender who sits out to wait for a shot.

He also floated Payton Talbott as a matchup that could test O'Malley's vulnerabilities.

Those remarks were made this week on the podcast and are reportedly fueling debate about the bantamweight pecking order.
