Poirier open to return for third Gaethje fight

Dustin Poirier, 37, said he might come out of retirement to face Justin Gaethje in a trilogy, reportedly speaking to media on the 26th.

Poirier had announced his retirement following his July 2025 bout with Max Holloway at UFC 318, but indicated a third meeting with Gaethje could draw him back.

After watching Gaethje’s recent fight at UFC 324, Poirier told Josh Thomson he would be willing to return specifically for that matchup, according to reports.

Promoters and matchmakers are reportedly discussing potential summer dates, though no official bout has been confirmed.
