Manager defends Gaethje's pay stance
During fight week for UFC 324, Justin Gaethje said he hadn’t seen higher pay under the promotion’s new streaming era, touching off a public dispute about fighter compensation.
Dana White reportedly said the company had offered Gaethje more money; manager Ali Abdelaziz later confirmed an offer was made but suggested the terms were not acceptable to Gaethje.
Abdelaziz indicated the initial proposal was modest and that Gaethje opted to wait and push for better terms after securing the interim lightweight title.
He also said pay negotiations are best handled privately and denied any lasting fallout between Gaethje and the promotion.
Sources say the result of UFC 324 and strong streaming figures should strengthen Gaethje’s leverage in upcoming talks, with further discussions reportedly expected.
