Patchy Mix signs with Rizin

Patchy Mix, a former Bellator bantamweight champion who compiled a strong record in that promotion, has exited the UFC and reportedly signed with RIZIN.

The 32-year-old is said to have struggled in the Octagon, suffering back-to-back decision defeats last year amid what has been described as 'UFC jitters'.

Mix is scheduled to meet 19-year-old Kyoma Akimoto at Rizin 52 in Tokyo's Ariake Arena on March 6, stepping in at featherweight.

Sources suggest a loss to a rising teen prospect would worsen his skid, while a successful debut could quickly put him into Rizin title conversations.
