CEO addresses Ngannou's future after omission from rankings
Francis Ngannou, the promotion's headline free-agent pickup, has only fought once for the company โ a TKO win over Renan Ferreira in October 2024.
When new heavyweight rankings were released this week Ngannou did not appear, with Vadim Nemkov listed at the top and Ferreira second, raising questions about his standing.
CEO John Martin said the rankings were not produced by the organization and suggested that inactivity may have made Ngannou ineligible for inclusion.
Ngannou has reportedly indicated he has one fight left on his contract and that the agreement may include a time limit, potentially creating a deadline for any return.
Martin added there is nothing to announce now but that a viable matchup could still be put together if it makes sense for both parties.
For the moment, his near-term fight plans remain uncertain and discussions are reportedly ongoing; refer to the original report for more information.
