Evloev overlooked for featherweight title

    Daniel Cormier says Movsar Evloev is being passed over in the UFC featherweight title picture.

    Cormier made the comments on his YouTube channel on Jan. 29, 2026, noting Evloev has not fought since beating Aljamain Sterling in December 2024 and pulled out of a scheduled July bout with Aaron Pico due to injury.

    He added that Alexander Volkanovski had been willing to face Evloev, but the promotion reportedly wanted Evloev to return to action first, and Volkanovski instead rematched Diego Lopes at UFC 325 in Sydney.

    Cormier also pointed to Lerone Murphy, who scored a recent knockout of Pico, as another contender being discussed for a title shot.

    According to Cormier and sources, Evloevโ€™s path to a championship fight appears stalled for now and discussions about his next steps are ongoing.
